This HR Guy Is Now For Hire

Good news for all you folks looking for an awesome, social media savvy HR pro: the author of this blog (Lance Haun) is now offering his services full time at a competitive hourly, salary and/or contract rate.

What am I looking for?

  • HR/Talent opportunities in the Portland, Oregon metro area or a telecommuting/remote type opportunity (my wife loves her job).
  • Anything involving blogging/social media would be a big plus. Continuing my involvement with this blog is a necessity.
  • HR vendor space? Other opportunities that fit my skill set? Let’s talk.

Do I find it a little humorous that this happened right after I posted about this? A little bit. I also appreciate David Perry sending me a review copy of Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0 a couple of weeks ago. Who knew I would have such a keen interest in reviewing the book so quickly?

Check out my LinkedIn profile and see if you see a fit. I can send a full resume if you just send me a quick e-mail at [email protected]. Have any other words of wisdom? Let’s hear them!

  1. You won’t be on the market for long, i bet! I’ll keep my ear to the ground.

  2. I am sorry to hear that Lance. But I am sure you will get a good news in no time.

And to all the loyal readers of this blog: we always talk about the greatness of social media and how much potential it has, but it’s time for some real action. Let’s spread the word and create an example.

  3. Crossing my fingers that something will come through for you soon, Lance!

  4. hey lance, i was doing a search when we were hoping to move to portland last summer. send me your direct email or phone # and we can bounce around whether any of the contacts i made would be good for you to know. f

  5. You’re not the only one using a blog to get a job! I started a blog about a week ago to hopefully help with my job search. I don’t have any advice since I am very new to blogging, but maybe you or your readers have some for me.

  6. LANCE! Welcome to my club!

Are you looking to move out of Beav-town or are jobs on “the west side” important?

  7. Well, that sucks.

You’ve done a great job of building your network and juggling multiple projects, so I think you’ll land quickly. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for you.

  8. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your job Lance – but I look forward to reading the future blog post about how your blogging, networking and continued professional development efforts made it possible for you to land your next great opportunity! I know you’ve got a lot of great folks in your network (kudos to you) and I’ve only been to Portland once, but if I can help in any way – just let me know!

  9. I wish I could hire you and pay you in cats. xxxooo

  10. Sorry to hear about this Lance, but I think talent like yours is scooped up quickly in any economy. Best of luck with your job search.

  11. Ladies and Gentlemen, there you have it: proof that layoffs happen to the best as well.

Man, that sucks. Even if it’s true that you have a brand and a great network, of course there are no guarantees and as they say, your friends are the ones who come through in hard times.

If there’s one link that I should pass around for you, the one that will most impress, which is it?

  12. And I guess this means you have a little bit of time for a guest post? I’m sure many people would be interested to hear how an HR pro takes on a job search.

  14. All the best for the job hunt Lance

I hope some Social Media/HR hybrid role emerges – a lot of us would want something like that!

  15. Lance – As we discussed, you are going to come out of this with flying colors! Just look at all the love and goodwill you’ve built in this industry. I’m confident you’ll have choices in the near term. You know I’m here for you buddy. :)

  16. Lance – Good luck with your job hunt.

  17. Well that sucks! Or does it? Iam a firm believer that things happen for a reason and while you may have not been ready for this change to happen now it will turn out positive for you.

Embrace the change, go with your gut and reach out for assistance. You’ve built a lot of good will and respect, it will come back to you – guaranteed!!!

P.S. I’ve got my West Coast peeps on the case too!

  18. Welcome to The 405 Club Lance! If you were in NY we would catch a drink and talk about the good ol’ days. Hopefully our (un)employment support resources can still help you! Maybe now’s the chance to get our Oregon chapter off the ground and running? (http://the405club.ning.com/group/oregon) We wish you the best in your job hunt!
