Although typcially skeptical of anything that comes from the mouth of that Silver-Tongued-Devil, Rick Neuheisel, I did also catch this during an interview on The Jim Rome Show as well. Have to admit, I liked it very much for the reasons you/Lance referenced. I'm hoping these difficult times force us to get off the hampster wheel (usually due to someone else's decision) and re-examine our priorities and identify those things that truly bring joy to our lives. Then, take the steps necessary to build a life around activities/people. Working is a necessity and I take pride in working hard; however, it does not define all that I am as a person and hope it never does. Great reminder. It appears that focusing on what you do have and what makes you happy helps you to feel happier. Taking the time to appreciate the good things about our work (like your #1 above) might help us to fill that bucket.
