As you said, depending on the level of role - the feedback could be different. However with increasing applications and the lack of man hours to appropriately dig through, this tool could have some effectiveness. This is just another way of asking the pre-lim questions that people use on online job boards but via phone. It screens out the people that should not have applied, offers some insight into their background but most importantly allows you to spend time with the people that you need to. I happened on this page doing a blog search for contact center and the information is very useful. We are always hiring and interviewing here and you are correct - the worst part is the initial phone screen. It is definitely a task that can be automated. Having a recorded interatction would be so much better. Not only because it would save time, it would also be nice to compare the recordings of a few candidates. Very interesting.
