Lance – Solid and grounded advice !! Too often we in HR can “tell” people what to do, but few model it. The reality that our actions are more critical is essential in the business environment, at home and in the community.

Empty words are so sad. You’re so right about living up to what you say you’ll do. That Enron mission statement makes me want to laugh (or cry). Empty words, alright.

Lance, I had a similar feeling when I first saw those docs under their 4-foot thick glass. And when I stood where Abe Lincoln’s desk was in the Capitol. Amazing. Those people did things.

Thanks so much for this article. It’s a very good reminder about what matters.
